Exultant Picture of the Day!

azaria1

Elor Azariya, our decorated Hevron soldier, has been released after 9 months in prison and another 16 months in detention. In total, he was held for 783 days–and for what?

For killing a terrorist who lay wounded on the ground after viciously stabbing a fellow soldier. Azariya thought the terrorist moving to possibly detonate himself and acted to stop him. For this, he was railroaded by a completely corrupt military justice system.

783 days ago we all immediately saw that Elor was innocent and he became “our soldier”; from then until now the public never wavered in their support and may have been the reason he was released three days early (the IDF was apparently worried about demonstrations at the prison-so they released him without making a public announcement).

Finally and thankfully, he is home. Thank you for your service, Elor!

Netta Barzilai

Netta Barzilai

As happens every year, Israelis are engrossed in the Eurovision contest. This year we are all pulling for Netta Barzilai.

Not only is Neta a fantastic singer and performer–but also she is fighting against BDS which has called on all Europeans not to vote for her.

According to the early voting released yesterday, the performer from Cyprus is in first, Netta is in second, and the group from Estonia is in third. It should be remembered that there are more than 50 European countries with entries in the contest.

Go Netta!

Speaking of BDS . . .

After a wildly successful bike run through Israel last week that started the race, the Giro d’Italia moved home to Italy yesterday.

The route riders took through Israel (from the Giro website).

The race start had to be delayed because of BDS protesters blocking the bike route–protesting the fact that the race had begun in Israel.

TODAY’S BLOG:

The United States Withdraws From The Iranian Nuclear Weapons Appeasement Agreement

President Trump has just announced that the United States is withdrawing from the abominable nuclear weapons agreement that the Obama Administration led by John Kerry “negotiated.” In addition, President Trump has just signed an executive order which places the most severe of financial sanctions on Iran.

In taking both of these steps, President Trump has once again kept another promise that he made during the 2016 presidential campaign.

How does President Trump’s decision affect Israel?

We shall find out in short order.

The IDF has just ordered all bomb shelters opened in northern Israel. At the same time, the American Embassy in Israel has warned American citizens not to go to the Golan.

Apparently, Iranian president Rouhani will be making a speech on the subject in the coming hour.

We will continue updates today as necessary and discuss this development in more detail tomorrow.
