The News On the Israeli Street

Palestinian terror in the last 24 hours . . .

On the Gaza border:

IDF forces captured three armed terrorists on the border with southern Gaza.

In Judea and Samaria:

A bulldozer attack near Beit Anun: a Palestinian terrorist rammed a policeman who was moderately wounded. The terrorist escaped.

What is going on with the election . . .

Remember that Wednesday is the day when the “final” final results will be issued by the Election Commission. United Torah Judaism and the New Right Party are actively working to overturn some of the results on the bases of computer glitches and polling place irregularities.

A couple of results of the election . . .

Jewish Voice for Peace along with other BDS organizations pledged yesterday to intensify the boycott campaign against Israel.

Rebecca Vilkomerson of JVP issued this statement: “After this election, I think there is even more responsibility to continue pressure from the outside because it is clear it is not going to come from the inside.”

A new leftist organization, Standing Together, has already started a campaign to bring together a leftist coalition to run in the next election–whenever that will be.

The attack in Syria yesterday . . .

Israeli planes attacked an Iranian Revolutionary Guard missile development center for medium range precision missiles in the Syrian village of Al-Zawi overnight. According to all sources the center was destroyed, and a number of Iranians were killed.

Less known is the fact that Israel also destroyed the SS-200 missile battery near Shinshar that shot down the Russian plane during Israel’s attack on September 17, 2018.

Apparently, Israel took out the battery at the request of Russian President Vladimir Putin as payback for Putin’s efforts in returning the body of IDF soldier Zachary Baumel.

The New Israel Fund raises its ugly head again . . .

You will recall that a few days ago, U.S. Representative Ilhan Omar enraged Americans by downplaying the 9/11 attacks as “Somebody did something.”

Following this, President Trump posted a video of Omar making the comments along with footage of the 9/11 attacks with the caption “We Will Never Forget!”

Guess who came out in defense of Omar yesterday?

The New Israel Fund that issued a statement declaring that “Pres. Trump’s tweet is wrong and dangerous.”

Unbelievable.

TODAY’S BLOG:

President Trump Goes To Bat For Israel Again

In case you missed it, in mid-March the U.S. government refused to supply any more visas for staff and judges of the International Criminal Court in The Hague to come to the United States.

The reason for the denial was that President Trump refused to allow these people to come to the United States to investigate supposed U.S. “war crimes” in Afghanistan.

Stunningly, the International Criminal Court announced yesterday that it is dropping the “war crimes” investigation altogether. The Court said: “An investigation into the situation in Afghanistan at this stage would not serve the interests of justice.”

So, you might ask dear reader, what does all of this have to do with Israel?

Well, President Trump tweeted this after the court’s announcement:

“A great victory, we will respond strongly to any attempt to prosecute Americans and Israelis.”

Bravo President Trump!
