As your humble servant predicted two days ago, Iranian officials posted these yesterday to recruit suicide bombers to attack Americans and Israelis. One Iranian official declared yesterday that Haifa and Jerusalem would be targeted while another said that if Iran is attacked by the U.S., Tel Aviv and Haifa “would be turned into dust.”

The leadership of Hamas meeting with the new leader of the Quds Force of the Iranian Revolutionary Guards in Tehran today. The uniformed man in the middle is General Ismail Qaani who has taken Soleimani’s place. To his right is the leader of Hamas, Ismail Haniyeh.
The leadership of Palestinian Hamas was quick to fly to Tehran yesterday to bow down at the feet of the Iranian leadership. As a main recipient of Iranian weapons, Hamas wanted to make sure that the arms supply continues flowing from Tehran to Gaza.
Afterwards, Ismail Haniyeh issued this statement: “The martyr Soleimani has dedicated his life to the Palestinian resistance by leading the Quds Force of the Iranian Revolutionary Guards. I can say that he is the martyr of Jerusalem.”
In Judea and Samaria:
Azzun was the primary terrorist point of attack during the evening with a bus windshield shattered and numerous cars hit with “rocks” and Molotovs. Two Israelis were wounded in the car attacks, and others were treated for trauma.
Other attacks took place at the T-Junction in Gush Etzion, just up the road from the Tapuach Junction, at Luban a-Sharqiya, Tekoa, and Umm Safa among other places.

Security Alert: U.S. Embassy Jerusalem (January 6, 2020)
Event: Heightened Middle East Tensions
Heightened tension in the Middle East may result in security risks to U.S. citizens abroad.
Out of an abundance of caution, the Embassy strongly encourages U.S. citizens to remain vigilant and take appropriate steps to increase their security awareness, as security incidents, including rocket fire, often take place without warning.
In the event of mortar or rocket fire, a red alert siren may be activated. Treat all such alerts as real; follow the instructions from local authorities and seek shelter immediately. Know the location of your closest shelter or protected space. U.S. government personnel and their family members may be restricted from traveling to areas affected by rocket activity, sirens, or the opening of bomb shelters.
For additional information on appropriate action to take upon hearing a siren or explosion, see the Israel Defense Forces Home Front Command website (link only available on devices within Israel) or view the Preparedness Information PDF.
