Palestinian terror in the last 24 hours . . .

Another day, another 40+ fires ravaging the land of southern Israel:

A fire near Sderot yesterday.

A fire near Sderot yesterday.

Four Islamic Jihad terrorists in Shuja’iya (across the border from Nahal Oz) who were in the process of preparing missiles to fire at southern Israel were killed in what is being described as a “training accident” last night”:

The face of terror.

The face of terror.

As a result of this training accident, Israel has moved Iron Dome missile interceptor batteries to here in Ashdod this morning because Ashdod “belongs” to Islamic Jihad in terms of being fired at during missile outbreaks and during wars with Gaza.

Yawn . . . no new election . . .

Despite frantic media reports up until 9 pm last night that we were on the verge of new elections, the Knesset finally did what we predicted all along. It kicked the budget problem three months down the road until December 23.

It is just another sign of Israel in disarray and dysfunction.

About that UAE Agreement . . .

On the one hand, we had working groups from the Health Ministries in both countries quickly concluding an outline for cooperation yesterday while . . . the UAE decided not to attend a meeting yesterday with Israel and the U.S. because of the comments that PM Netanyahu has made about the likely sale of F-35 airplanes to the UAE.

TODAY’S BLOG:

Not The Israel We Once Knew

Try to wrap your mind around this.

Where do you think Major General Herzl Halevi, the IDF Commander of Forces in Southern Israel, was yesterday?

You might think that he would have been touring the front trying to come up with solutions to the hundreds of explosive balloons and dozens of missiles fired at southern Israel in the last week.

After all, isn’t that what a commander is supposed to do?

Not in today’s Israel.

Instead of rallying his forces against the terror arrayed against us, he was in Qatar yesterday pleading with the Qataris to pony up more blackmail money to pay Hamas “to calm the situation.”

Yes, you read that correctly.

The commander of IDF forces in the south was in Qatar trying to facilitate blackmail payments to Hamas.

It is just unbelievable.

What has happened to Israel? What has happened to the IDF General Command? Have we now turned into a nation of beggars that go hat in hand to countries like Qatar and the UAE asking for handouts?

This is not the Israel I once knew.

Addendum:

As of this morning in response to Israel’s begging, Qatar has agreed to the Hamas demand to increase the monthly Gaza blackmail payout from $25 million to $40 million dollars a month.

In cash.
