The scene in Khartoum, Sudan this morning as Sudanese burn an Israeli flag.

The flag burning in Khartoum is in advance of the apparent arrival of an Israeli delegation this morning. Apparently, the Israelis will be in the Sudan to finalize a normalization agreement between Israel and the Sudan engineered by the President Trump. If the above photo is any indication, this normalization process will not go as smoothly as the ones with the UAE and Bahrain.

The News on the Israeli Street

The daily Corona (Covid-19) update . . .

There are 307,335 confirmed casesan increase of 1,173

285,475 of these confirmed cases have recoveredan increase of 2,970

596 are in critical condition—a decrease of 18

232 of the most critically ill are on ventilatorsa decrease of 2

2,291 have diedan increase of 13

There are now 21,860 active Corona cases in Israel

Yesterday, the Health Ministry reported that on Tuesday 42,518 tests were processed and that 2.75% of them were positive.

All of the numbers are trending in a good direction with a lower number of deaths and decrease in the number critically ill. As for the number of newly confirmed cases, this continues to be a factor of decreased testing in Corona hotspots such as the major haredi cities and neighborhoods.

Meanwhile, our dysfunctional Corona Cabinet was still unable to reach a decision last night on where we go from here in terms of leaving the current lockdown.

Palestinian terror in the last 24 hours . . .

In Judea and Samaria:

A Palestinian terror cell was captured in the Balata Palestinian settlement last night by IDF soldiers and Border Police.

Yesterday we reported on how the IDF sealed the room of the terrorist murderer of Staff Sgt. Amit Ben Yigal and commented on how it was utterly futile. Click here to see how it took 14 seconds for Palestinians to reopen the room.

On the Gaza border:

The IDF has determined that the tunnel that was uncovered yesterday was “an offensive tunnel built by Hamas.”

Did we really need an IDF announcement of this obvious fact?

Of course, it must have taken a lot of discussion within the IDF General Command to agree to make such an announcement given the way that the General Command has cozied up to Hamas in recent years.

By the way, as you can see from the photo below, military checkpoints are still set up in the Gaza border area near where the tunnel was found because of the fear of snipers in Gaza and possible infiltration of terrorists into Israel:

Kolakevod to the Trump Administration, again . . .

In yet another amazing Trumpian development, it was revealed yesterday that the Trump Administration wants to declare Amnesty International, Human Rights Watch, and Oxfam “anti-Semitic.”

We all know that these three organizations deserve the appellation because they constantly work to undermine and delegitimize Israel, but the Trump Administration is the first to ever try to label them as such.

TODAY’S BLOG:

With Friends Like These . . .

We have often discussed here at OneIsrael about how the peace agreement with Jordan is an icy cold one. Whatever normalization that has occurred between the two countries is so buried as to be completely unseen.

Instead we see almost daily denunciations of Israel from Amman, and the Jordanians never miss an opportunity to attack Israel in every venue from the United Nations to the Arab League.

On the other hand, we almost never discuss Egypt with which our peace agreement seems much warmer. Everyone knows that Egypt and Israel work together to fight terrorism in the Sinai as well as on the Gaza border.

And we all know that when terrorism erupts in Gaza in the form of missiles attacks on southern Israel, it is Egypt that usually rides in to quieten the situation.

However, having said that, we should never forget that anti-Israel hatred lurks just below the surface both in the Egyptian public and Egyptian military.

Consider this screenshot from a promotional video released by the Egyptian Navy yesterday:

So what is the mission of the Egyptian Navy–the mission meant to recruit more Egyptians to the naval service?

That mission is the destruction of the Israeli Navy.

With friends like Jordan and Egypt, who needs enemies?
