The Long Overdue Event of the Day

How absurd is it that Israel allows a parade of PLO leaders to traipse in and out of Israel all the time in order to trash Israel in international venues?

The most recent was PLO FM Riyad al-Maliki who just went to The Hague to urge the International Criminal Court to speed up the prosecution of Israelis for war crimes.

When al-Maliki returned yesterday via Jordan and the Allenby Crossing, he expected to waltz right through. That didn’t happen.

He was detained and shocked to discover that Israel’s Security Services (the GSS) has revoked his VIP certificate.

Today, there is half the number of coffee spots and half the revenue being produced.

Given Israelis love a coffee, we can expect that the coffee scene will return to normal in the coming years, but it will be a long way back.

TODAY’S BLOG:

The Final Poll of Polls

The average of all the final polls.

The average of all the final polls.

As regular readers can see, not much has changed since we first reported the result of a pre-election poll about a month ago except for the rather unexpected drop of New Hope and expected drop of Yamina (which never receives more than around 8 seats in elections).

Interestingly but not surprisingly, however, almost every party is reporting that its internal polling suggests that it will win more seats than you see above. For example, Likud’s internal polling suggests that it will will win 34-35 seats. On the other end of the spectrum, Meretz believes it will win 5-6 seats.

In tomorrow’s blog, your humble servant will make his predictions as to the outcome of Tuesday’s election.
