“The Temple Mount is in our hands.”

These immortal words were declared by Gen. Moti Gur back in 1967 when his paratroopers took the Temple Mount during the Six-Day War.

They were also spoken by Tom Nissani, the CEO of the Temple Mount Heritage Foundation on the Temple Mount while he was on the Temple Mount several days ago.

Nissani was promptly arrested and detained for six hours–and had his telephone and camera confiscated. The charge against Nissani is that speaking “The Temple Mount is in our hands” endangers “security of life and property.”

When Nissani was finally released, the Police Supervisor issued an order banning him from the Mount for two months.

How far we have sadly fallen since 1967.

The News on the Israeli Street

The daily Corona update . . .

*If there is one thing that has characterized government actions since the Corona pandemic began, it is complete incompetence. One Corona entity has no idea what another Corona entity is doing, and decisions are made without regard to science.

Yesterday, the Corona Cabinet of the new Coalition government decided that a person only has to be quarantined for 7 days instead of 14 after exposure to Corona if they get a negative test result on the 7th day.

How did they reach this decision?

Not on the basis of any scientific study, but merely (in their words) “to increase public cooperation and trust.” PM Bennett added:  “We set measures that the public can meet, and expect the public to respond fully.”

Do Bennett and the government really believe that catering to public approval increases public trust?

What malarkey.

*The Ministry of Health reports this morning that 51 Corona patients in Israel have the Delta Plus mutation.

TODAY’S BLOG:

Are Young American Jews A Lost Cause?

A survey carried out by GBAO Strategies from June 28-July 1 online commissioned by the Jewish Electorate Institute would seem to suggest that this is quickly becoming the case.

The survey asked questions after the recent mini-war between Palestinian Gaza and Israel–a mini-war that was completely initiated by Hamas and Islamic Jihad and resulted in more than 5000 missiles and mortars fired at Israel.

Among the findings of the poll insofar as Jews under 40-years-old are concerned:

*20% agreed with the statement “Israel doesn’t have a right to exist.”

*33% agreed with the statement “Israel is committing genocide.”

*34% agreed with the statement “Israel is an apartheid state.”

The agreement with these statements comes as no surprise as young “progressive” Jews increasingly deprioritize Israel and prioritize the values of the self-proclaimed “progressive” wing of the U.S. Democrat Party.

Of course, there is nothing “progressive” about thinking that the only Jewish state in the world has no right to exist, or about fraudulently terming Israel an apartheid state that is committing genocide.

It probably won’t be long until a “progressive” value that young American Jews will hold will be to disavow themselves of anything Jewish, Israel or otherwise. That is certainly the direction in which Reconstructionist and Reform “Judaism” is heading.

Are young American Jews a lost cause? Your humble servant does not want to go that far, but the handwriting is on the wall.
