SHANA TOVAH!

Rosh Hashana 5782, the Jewish New Year, began last night at sundown. OneIsrael wishes all of you who celebrate the holiday, and those of you who do not, the best in health, happiness, and prosperity in the coming year!

Today we begin our annual Rosh Hashana–Simhat Torah fundraising campaign.

We hope that you will consider contributing to OneIsrael in order to help us continue getting the word out about what is going on here in the Holy Land of Israel. Thank you!

The News on the Israeli Street

Palestinian terror in the last 24 hours . . .

A blurry photo taken from a moving firetruck along the Gaza border a few hours ago of yet another fire torching fields near an Israeli community.

In response to the explosive balloon detonated fires along the Gaza border, the IAF attacked empty buildings and sand dunes in Gaza again.

In response to that useless attack, Palestinian terrorists opened fire with machine guns on Nahal Oz and Sderot damaging homes and vehicles. Fortunately, no Israelis were physically wounded.

The daily Corona update . . .

There is no update today; apparently the Health Ministry is on holiday.

More on the terrorist escape from Gilboa prison . . .

What happened at Gilboa Prison has caused Israel to become the laughing stock of the Middle East. Palestinians in Jenin and elsewhere are holding victory parades, and here is a cartoon from Iran:

Note the footprints on the flag--another insult.

Note the footprints on the flag–another insult.

Israel has been transfixed by the reportage of the event.

Some of the absurd details:

1. Last year, Israel spent millions of shekels to install a “jammer” in the prison so that prisoners could not talk to each other on their cellphones (which the IPS–Israel Prison Service– completely gave up on trying to prohibit). However, prison officials decided not to put the jammer into operation for fear that there would be riots in the prison and attempted escapes. Talk about the inmates running the asylum.

2. The night before the escape, the IPS incredibly agreed to the request of arch-terrorist Zakaria Zabidi that he be moved into the “cell” of 5 members of Islamic Jihad. They were were the six that escaped.

The excessive intake of alcoholic lowest prices for cialis drug, the side effect of some drug etc. The growing popularity of the Texas online levitra best prices Check This Out driver education has opened up new avenues for the service providers. What is cocaine and what makes it get viagra from india browse around for source such a great drug. A survey has revealed that 175 million males in the old age usually suffer from diseases like diabetes and atherosclerosis that hinder blood flow 5mg cialis generic to the reproductive organs.
3. The hole in the bathroom floor through which the terrorists entered the sewage channel was actually built some years ago in an escape attempt that was thwarted. The hole and part of the tunnel/channel were never properly sealed.

4. The guard at the watchtower under which the escapees emerged on the outside of the prison was asleep.

5. It took 90 minutes for the prison officials to discover that the escapees were missing from the time that the police informed the prison officials–after the police were informed by a taxi driver (incorrectly first reported by the police as a farmer) about suspicious figures.

6. We have had a series of idiotic assessments from the Israeli police: first, they said yesterday that the escapees were in Jenin; then, that they had split up with two of them already in Jordan, and other two in Jenin; then, that they were in Majdal Shams; and this morning, that they are still in Israel. The police don’t have the slightest idea where the escapees are despite the massive manhunt.

In sum, the IPS–and to a lesser degree the Israel police–come across as being incompetent boobs. More than this, there is discussion if a guard or multiple guards in the prison were bribed.

Oh, and by the way, Islamic Jihad is warning Israel this morning that if any of the excaped prisoners are harmed or killed, it will launch missiles into southern Israel and beyond.

TODAY’S BLOG:

OneIsrael’s 10 Delusional Wishes For The New Year

1. We hope that the left wing coalition led by PM Naftali Bennett, FM Yair Lapid, and “Defense” Minister Benny Gantz–which is piece by piece dismantling Israel as we know it–will quickly collapse.

 2. We wish that Benjamin Netanyahu would step aside as leader of Likud and let one of his capable lieutenants take over the party–so that a right-wing government can be reestablished here.

3. We wish that U.S. President Joe Biden would awaken from his mental fog and see how he is making Israel and Israelis more vulnerable to attack by denying Israeli sovereignty over the Golan Heights and denying the legality of Jewish communities in Judea and Samaria–and see how he is destroying the fabric of the Middle East by catering to terror regimes such as those in Tehran and Ankara.

4. We wish that the United Nations, the European Union, and all entities associated with them would be magically transformed into entities that no longer embrace anti-Semitism.

5. We hope that those brave Israelis living along the Gaza border and in communities in Judea and Samaria who protect us by their very presence will see a year with no missile, Molotov, and “rock” attacks.

6. We hope that we will see a new IDF General Command, one that is not tainted to the core by faux-humanitarian ideals and a desire to feather their own nests after leaving the army.

7. We wish that the Israeli government would aggressively act to bring down costs here. Everything from cars to clothes are wildly expensive with prices seemingly controlled by monopolistic cartels.

8. We wish that the Israeli police would strictly enforce traffic laws. The carnage on the nation’s highways are a result of not only driver recklessness but also the absence of Israeli police anywhere.

9.  We wish that Covid-19 and all of the asocial changes it has wrought would disappear.

10. We hope that the social fabric of Israel will be healed so that the secular are not always at the throats of the orthodox, the Ashkenazi do not constantly belittle the Sephardic, and Israeli-Arabs take their place in Israeli society by volunteering to serve in the national service and the army.

As we said, these 10 hopes and wishes are delusional, but it doesn’t hurt to dream a little as we begin a new year.

Shana Tovah!
