The Joke of the Day

Islamic Jihad terrorists imprisoned in Israel have begun a protest against being discriminated against.

Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha!

Remember that 5 out of 6 recent escapees from Gilboa Prison are members of Islamic Jihad.

Palestinian Terror in the Last 24 Hours

Palestinian terrorists rammed an Israeli woman’s car between Neve Erez and Mikhmash. The badly wounded woman was evacuated to a nearby hospital.

A Palestinian terrorist stabbed a 17-year-old man at the Pisgat Ze’ev Light Rail Train Stop in Jerusalem. The terrorist escaped, the young man is in critical condition.

Palestinian terrorists attacked Israelis at more than 20 locations in Judea and Samaria. Some of the worst were between the Yakir Junction and the Gitti Avishar Junction.

A Palestinian terrorist was subdued on the Tel Aviv Promenade by bystanders. Click here to view.

Sukkot Continues!

A wonderful scene of morning worship at the Kotel (Western Wall) this morning as Sukkot continues (note the men swaying with their lulavs).

Summer Ends Fall Begins

The seasons they are a’changing! By tonight, the first heavy winds and rain of Fall are predicted to hit all the way from northern Israel to the northern Negev. At the moment, we are already experiencing strong winds and cloudy weather here in Ashdod.

The Daily Corona Update

5,921 more Israelis were confirmed “yesterday” as having Covid-19. There are now 69,076 active cases in the country.

1,250,200 Israelis have contracted Corona since the pandemic began.

The positive test rate yesterday was 5.64%.

723 Israelis are in serious condition with another 197 in critical condition on ventilators.

7,592 Israelis have died–an increase of 35 since yesterday.

TODAY’S BLOG

“Zero in Corona, Zero in the Economy, Zero in Security,

and Zero in Foreign Policy”

In yesterday’s blog, we quoted former boxer turned Israel FM Lapid who was trying to rationalize the dropping of Iron Dome Funding by Democrats in the U.S. House of Representatives:

“We are rebuilding trust with the U.S. Congress after years in which the previous government neglected Congress and the Democratic Party and caused considerable damage to Israel-US relations. Today’s action was only a technical rejection only.”

We observed:

“Yair Lapid can blame the previous Netanyahu government all he wants to, but the simple fact is that such funding was never denied during Netanyahu’s tenure.”

Shortly after that blog was published, Benjamin Netanyahu’s Likud Party issued this response to Lapid:

“Lapid’s claim regarding former Prime Minister Netanyahu and the Democrats once again reveals his incredible ignorance. It was former PM Netanyahu who came together with the Democratic administration of President Obama on the largest security aid package ever given to Israel– $38 billion dollars.

It was Netanyahu who met with hundreds of Democrat members of Congress and garnered their support for the package by explaining that the package was essential to Israel’s security. During the Netanyahu era, there was never a vote against Israel in Congress, including under Democratic leadership . . .

In order to cover up Bennett and Lapid’s political shame, they blame others for the failure of the congressional vote. They should only blame themselves. Bennett and Lapid: zero in Corona, zero in the economy, zero in security and zero in foreign policy.”

Yes, yes, yes, and yes.

As regular readers of OneIsrael know, your humble servant has often stated that it is past time for Benjamin Netanyahu to step aside as the head of Likud and turn the reins over to one of his able lieutenants.

But having said that, the Likud statement is absolutely correct:

–the Corona situation has not improved (more than 1000 dead last month–and a government with no idea what to do);

–spending and the national debt are spiraling out of control as the Coalition (aka Concession) government attempts to mollify all of its disparate elements with huge sums of money;

–there is no plan for internal security except for giving the PLO and Hamas concession after concession;

–there is no coherent foreign policy because the amateurish Bennett, Lapid, and Gantz are all telling foreign leaders different things.

Zero in Corona. Zero in the Economy. Zero in Security. Zero in Foreign Policy.

Addendum: In a hasty–one may say desperate–attempt to make good, Democrats in the U.S. Congress will apparently vote on a separate Iron Dome funding package tomorrow. After all, voting against Israel’s ability to defend itself does not play well anywhere in the U.S. except in “progressive” districts.
