Missile Fodder Once Again

Video of the Day:

Confrontation on the Temple Mount

A small group of Jews were finishing their walk around the Mount this morning just below the Dome of the Rock when a group of Muslim women at the top of the stairs began provocatively shouting at them: “Khayber, Khayber Ya Yehud!” (Khayber refers to the city in Arabia where Muslims massacred Jews in 628: “Ya Yehud” means “You Jews”).

Then the Jews began responding: “Am Yisrael Chai!”

Click here to see what happened next.

As you saw, the police moved the Jews away. What you cannot see is that later, when they mounted the steps to move the Muslim women away, the women simply walked into the Dome of the Rock.

By the way, those women are called the Mourabitat and are supposedly banned from being on the Temple Mount. Also note that Jews are not allowed to go to the top of the stairs beside the Dome of the Rock.

The Outrageous Quote of the Day

“The Biden Administration appreciates Jordan’s special role as the guardian of the holy sites for Muslims in Jerusalem. We stress the importance of maintaining the historic status quo on the Temple Mount.”

U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken in conversation with the Jordanian Foreign Minister yesterday.

The outrage is that this conversation took place on a day on which the Jordanian government continued to pour fuel on the fire by encouraging Palestinians to attack Israeli soldiers and police.

What Blinken should have done was condemn the Jordanians for incitement–not repeat meaningless mantras like “Jordan’s special role as the guardian of the holy site for Muslims in Jerusalem” and “the historic status quo on the Temple Mount.”

By saying what he did, Blinken and the Biden Administration tacitly approved the anti-Israel vitriol pouring out of Amman.

The News on the Israeli Street

Palestinian terror in the last 24 hours . . .

Kissufim and Ein Hashlosha were the targets of Palestinian missiles last night.

Kissufim and Ein Hashlosha were the targets of Palestinian missiles last night.

In response, Israel struck the usual empty buildings and sand dunes. However, the truly dangerous news is that Hamas terrorists fired anti-aircraft missiles at our planes.

Click here to see Hamas terrorists launching an anti-aircraft missile at an Israeli jet overnight.

Unsurprisingly, the IDF is defending Hamas today by saying that it has no control over missile launches from Gaza and that the anti-aircraft missiles that were fired at our planes were “old ones” that posed no threat.

Unsurprising yet unbelievable.

Gallivanting again . . .

Missiles are falling on southern Israel, riots are taking place on the Temple Mount, violence is rampant in Judea and Samaria, and Israel is being fraudulently condemned by international entities . . . so where is FM Yair Lapid?

It turns out that Lapid decided that nothing happening in or to Israel was important enough to postpone his family’s vacation to Morocco.

This morning a Foreign Ministry spokesman announced that Lapid “is considering returning to Israel earlier than planned.”

As we have often reported, the three main figures in this government (PM Bennett, FM Lapid, and “Defense” Minister Gantz) never miss an opportunity to gallivant.

About those Corona vaccines . . .

You may recall that at various times during the past year, we have reported that Israel entities–especially the Biological Institute in Nes Ziona and the Israeli company NRx were on the verge of creating a Corona vaccine that would be the world’s best.

As of this morning, NRx announced that it is no longer trying to create a vaccine, and the Biological Institute is making no comments whatsoever. And this is after the government invested 175 million shekels in the NRx “vaccine”, and untold millions in the Biological Institute effort.

The new coast of Israel? . . .

With Israelis clamoring to live along the central coast but with steadily decreasing land on which to build, the idea of creating artificial islands off the coast is gaining steam. In particular, Herzliya, Tel Aviv, and Bat Yam are vying to be the first to create such islands.

Herzliya seems to be in the lead, and in fact the Ministry of Construction is already considering granting approval for a 1,200 dunam island west of the city that would cost about 2 billion dollars. Plans for the island or islands have been created by internationally renowned Israeli architect Sami Tito, two of whose drawings are shown below:

A different perspective:

There are even plans to build a runway and terminal for a domestic airport.

There are even plans to build a runway and terminal for a domestic airport.

Obviously, these plans are closely following the artificial islands created in the United Arab Emirates.

A humorous aside . . .

The following photograph with the heading you see is making the rounds on Israeli social media today:

A little Israeli humor.

TODAY’S BLOG

Missile Fodder Once Again

Your humble servant was struck by this announcement from the IDF spokesman today that “if the Palestinians continue shooting missiles at Israel, then Israel may cancel the concessions made to Hamas in Gaza.”

Those concessions refer to increased “humanitarian” deliveries to Hamas in terms of fuel and construction materials (Hamas announced today that it is rebuilding its tunnel network), increased Gazan Palestinians allowed to work in Israel, visits of Palestinian families in Gaza to terrorists in Israeli prisons, and permission to Palestinians in Gaza to pray at the Temple Mount during Ramadan.

The truth, as stated previously in today’s blog, is that the IDF is bending over backwards to defend Hamas.

“If the Palestinians continue shooting missiles”? One wonders how many missiles would it take?

Israel may cancel concessions? Why in the world haven’t the concessions been canceled already?

Meanwhile, as the steady drizzle of rocket attacks continue, Israeli residents along the border resume their customary position of being missile fodder.
