The Ridiculously Nonsensical Quote of the Day

“This is not just a non-Bibi government, there is a common denominator of political parties that are willing to sacrifice so that a government is not formed under Netanyahu.”

Israeli “Defense” Minister Benny Gantz

Not a “non-Bibi government” but a government united by political parties determined not to have a Netanyahu-led government.

Say what?

There is nothing to say except that we have always known that Gantz is a moron.

Israeli missiles also hit both runways at the airport rendering them unusable. Afterwards, the Russians condemned what they called a “vicious attack.”

The News on the Israeli Street

The daily Corona update . . .

4,482 Israelis tested positive yesterday (out of 13,977 tested) bringing to 28,441 the number of active patients in the country.

The positive test rate was 32.06%; the coefficient of infection rose to 1.42%.

100 Israelis are seriously ill25 are critically ill23 of these are on ventilators.

10,871 have died, 4 in the last 24 hours.

There is no good news here except that relatively few Israelis died. The positive test rate is off the charts and higher than it has ever been. If 100,000 Israelis had been tested, at least 32,000 would have tested positive.

Palestinian terror in the last 24 hours . . .

Palestinian terrorists threw IEDs at an Israeli motorist on Road 446, south of the Na’alin Junction.

Palestinian terrorists set fire to buildings between Marda and Ariel.

Palestinian terrorists threw “rocks” and Molotovs in an attempt to murder Israelis at numerous locations including on the Jerusalem-Gush Etzion Road near Al-Aruv, Luban a-Sharqiya, Tekoa, and at various points in the Hevron area.

Palestinian terrorists attempted to blow up the security fence at Givon.

Palestinian and international “humanitarian activists” set fire . . .

When Palestinians and their “humanitarian” international activists counterparts (aka terrorists) were told yesterday by IDF forces that they were planting crops in an area beside Givat Ronen which did not belong to the Palestinians, they decided to set the area on fire.

Blackened hillsides from a fire started by terrorist arsonists--and finally put out by IDF Soldiers and Jewish community members.

Blackened hillsides from a fire started by terrorist arsonists–and finally put out by IDF soldiers and Jewish community members just before the fire consumed a number of homes.

It’s degree mill season . . .

As the university school year comes to a close, Israeli universities are rushing to hand out honorary doctorates by the bushel.

The Hebrew University of Jerusalem published its list of 19 honorary recipients of “the Degree of Doctor Philosophiae Honoris Causa” in the Jerusalem Post today. The list was led by film director Quentin Tarantino.

Ben-Gurion University also published a quarter page announcement in the Post congratulating Dr. Ursula von der Leyen, President of the European Commission upon receiving an “Honorary Doctoral Degree” from the university. Why anyone from the EU– which has funded terrorists (remember the murderer Rene Shnerb) and terror organizations in Judea and Samaria to the tune of millions of Euros and which continuously builds illegal Palestinian communities–would receive such an honor is beyond comprehension.

TODAY’S BLOG

Israel By The Numbers

Some interesting numbers for your consideration today:

*The government collected 37.4 billion shekels in taxes in May–an increase of more than 7 billion from the 29.4 billion collected in May of last year.

*Israel’s reserve forces have long been thought to be our last line of defense in the case of an attack on the country. It was reported last night that only 17% of the Israeli population can now be called up if necessary.

*According to QS World University Rankings, the Hebrew University in Jerusalem now ranks 222 worldwide, Tel Aviv University 260, the Technion in Haifa 408, and Ben Gurion University in Beersheva 490. All in all, this is a dismal statement about current higher education in Israel.

*More than 80,000 people participated in this weekend’s Gay Pride Parade in Tel Aviv.

*More than 50,000 vacationers spent the weekend on the beaches of the Kineret (Sea of Galilee).

*The terrorist who stabbed a security guard on the Jerusalem Light Rail in 2015 was released from prison yesterday by a lenient judge after only serving 6.5 years in prison. Almost certainly he he will carry out another attack in the near future.

*For the first time since January 2008, the national deficit in May dropped to zero.

*The 4th person in Israel with monkeypox was diagnosed this weekend.

*4 of the famed ibexes that roam around Mitzpe Ramon were found dead this morning. It is not believed they were poisoned, but autopsies are being performed.

*The temperature is dropping across the country. The predicted highs and low for several cities: Eilat 41-25, Beersheva 33-20, Jerusalem 29-18, Tel Aviv 28-23, Tzfat 27-17 (all temperatures in Centigrade).
