Quote of the Day

“The Zionist Mossad murdered Imam Ali .”

Qais al-Khajali, prominent theologian of the Shi’ite militias in Iran in a sermon this week concerning the death of the holiest Imam in Iranian history.

Leading Shi'ite theologian

Leading Shi’ite theologian Qais al-Khajali sermonizing this week.

Nevermind that Ali was murdered in 661 CE.

661 CE.

Or that Islamic history records that he was murdered during morning prayers on January 28, 661 as he prayed at the Kufa Mosque–by a puritannical Muslim Kharajite (Abd Al Rahman ibn Muljam) who hit him in the head with a poisoned sword.

Never mind any of that.

The Israelis did it.

The Iranian and Arabic obsession with Israel knows no bounds.

The war in Judea and Samaria.

IDF soldiers working with Shin Bet and MGB soldiers captured 12 terrorists in Qalqilya, Al Yamon, Salfit and Hussan overnight.

Shooting attacks:

Palestinian terrorists opened fire on IDF soldiers in Tubas.

Palestinian terrorists opened fire on IDF soldiers in Shechem.

IED, Molotov, and “rock” attacks:

Palestinian terrorists attacked Israelis at Joseph’s Tomb in Shechem, between Hetmar Shomron and the large Yitzhar Junction, on Road 443 near the Sonol gas station, on Road 458 near the Malachi HaShalom Junction, at Al Muayyir, between Rimonim and Jericho, at Huwara, and at many other locations.

Stabbing attack:

A knife-wielding Palestinian terrorist was thwarted in Kfar Al-Bira.

Quotes Concerning the Flag March tomorrow . . .

As you know from our blog two days ago, Thursday is Jerusalem Day, and an integral part of the day is the Flag March around the city–especially the Old City.

Here are the absurd quotes of the day:

“We urge the parties to refrain from actions and rhetoric and activities that would inflame tensions.”

U.S. State Department spokesman Vedant Pate speaking yesterday

“If the Israeli government insists on holding the march, it will lead to tension and an explosion of the situation.”

PLO Chairman Mahmoud Abbas (echoing the American statement)

“The march will not take place in Jerusalem.”

Hamas speaker Salah Alvardwil blathering his usual nonsense

Knesset parlor games . . .

There has been a brouhaha all day long here in Israel concerning the budget.

Likud has been especially critical of Itamar Ben Gvir and his Otzma Party for failing to show up for two votes–thereby allowing Opposition law proposals to initially pass their first readings (remember it takes 3 readings to really pass).

As for Ben Gvir, he is upset that the budget calls for cuts in the budget for the Negev and Galilee regions–both areas beset by crime for which a National Guard is to be established. However, with a decreased budget allotment, there will be fewer police hired to tackle the problem.

The star of the week . . .

Named "Julia" by the local press, this female monk seal has decided to make the Tel Aviv shoreline its home for the time being.

Named “Julia” by the local press, this female monk seal has decided to make the Tel Aviv shoreline its home for the time being.

As you may not know, monk seals are increasingly rare–especially in the Mediterranean.

Because of the interest Julia has generated, the Tel Aviv police have now established a 24-hour a day guard around the area of beach she has claimed as her own.

And so it goes today in Israel.
