The Gaza War: Day 158 . . . The War in the North

The Powerful Quote of the Day

“We will win this war and I hope with the support of the United States as it has been so far. But one way or another we will do it.”

A defiant PM Netanyahu in an interview with Fox News in the U.S. yesterday in response to problems with Biden about attacking Rafah.

This unusually blunt message from Netanyahu is obviously a result of the continuing demeaning comments coming from Biden about what Israel can and cannot do.

The Insane Quote of the Day

“The Christians are a greater threat to Israel than Iran and Hezbollah.”

Former Defense Minister Bogie Ya’alon speaking yesterday

Say what? Ya’alon has long been idiotic, but his comment yesterday takes the cake. Does he know how many Christians are in the IDF and are fighting for Israel? Does he have any idea about the magnitude of support for Israel in Christian communities around the world?

UPDATE 9:00 AM

On the Ground in the South

*It has been a noisy night and early morning here in Ashdod with huge booms coming from Gaza. One particularly large attack that took place around 2 am awakened us with a concussive blast that shook our house here for about 5 seconds. It is being reported this morning that the blast targeted an area between Khan Younis and Rafah.

*In other IDF action overnight, heavy artillery fire targeted Betel, Beit Lahia,  Gaza City, Khan Younis, Nuseirat, Khozea, Abasan, Deir Al-Balach.

On the Ground in the North

*The IAF struck two Hezbollah compounds in the area around Baalbak 4 timesBaalbak is the deepest inside Lebanon (100 km) that we have hit in the recent conflict.

On the Ground in Judea, Samaria, and Jerusalem

*Duvdevan fighters operating in conjunction with Shin Bet forces thwarted what is being described as a “mega-attack” in the center of Tel Aviv last night. The terrorist in charge of the operation was killed in a firefight at Kfar Zita near Jenin. He was heavily armed and had a suicide vest.

*There are numerous warnings for terror attacks during Ramadan at locations around the country.

*An Israeli-Arab terror cell based in Sakhnin operating with the assistance of HamISIS has been uncovered:

The terror arsenal to be used in attack against Israelis.

The terror arsenal to be used in attack against Israelis.

*Palestinian terrorists attacked Israelis with Molotovs on Road 436 between Givat Ze’ev and Ramot.

About Humanitarian Aid

The IDF released this information yesterday on how many “humanitarian” aid trucks have entered Gaza:

From October 21-Nov. 1: 241 trucks

In November: 2,615 trucks

In December: 3,289 trucks

In January: 5,037 trucks

In February: 2,980 trucks

The IDF explained that the drop in February was because our Mothers’ March protesters were blocking the trucks (Kolakevod to them!).

All told: 198,000 tons of food, and 29,500 tons of water have been delivered to Gaza--all of which went directly to HamISIS and has made the release of our hostages infinitely more difficult.

Speaking of Humanitarian Aid

In a completely bizarre and unprecedented move yesterday, the National Security Council and the IDF–without the approval of the War Cabinet or the government–transported 70 orphans that the IDF “rescued” in Gaza through Israel, and into eastern Jerusalem yesterday–with a final destination of Bethlehem.

Unbelievable.

How could anybody think of doing such an operation without government approval and without a thought to the hostages being held? Or the Israeli orphans that have come about because of the war?
