The Absolutely Correct Quote of the Day

The quote you see below is taken from “Biden’s Middle East is a Fantasy World” a commentary piece by Israeli journalist Amit Segal that appeared in the Wall Street Journal (March 13):

“Biden’s Middle East is a fantasy world. He imagines that the Palestinians are eager for peace, and the Israeli government is at odds with its own people . . .

In reality, according to a November survey by Arab World for Research and Development, affiliated with Ramallah-based Birzeit University, 59% of Palestinians “extremely support” the Oct. 7 massacre, and another 16% “somewhat support” it . . .

Yes, [as President Biden says] there is a significant gap between Israel’s leadership and its citizens – but it is the opposite of what people in Washington assume. The Israeli public is much more “right-wing” than its government’s policies.

While Mr. Netanyahu has previously expressed support for a Palestinian state, a survey conducted in February by Midam for Channel 12 News found that 63% of the Israeli public strongly opposes such a state anyway. While the cabinet implicitly agreed that a renewed Palestinian Authority would rule Gaza, 73% of those polled opposed it . . .

The Israel Mr. Biden knows—the one that supports deep withdrawals, settlement evacuations and the two-state solution—ceased to exist two decades ago during the second intifada.”

Correct on every count. Biden and his Bidenite Democrats delusionally believe in an Israeli-Palestinian environment that ceased to exist more than 20 years ago and as such are completely out of touch with the feelings of most Israelis.

See your humble servant’s commentary below on Chuck Schumer’s delusional speech in the Senate two days ago for further evidence of this.

UPDATE 12:00 PM

The Terror Attack at the Beit Kama Junction Yesterday

Senior IDF Warrant Officer Uri Moyal (51) was murdered by a terrorist yesterday at an Aroma Cafe near Rafah north of Beersheva.

The remarkable video of the event shows how the terrorist walked into the cafe, came up behind Moyal and stabbed him repeatedly. Moyal then fought the terrorist to the ground and managed to step away before shooting him . . . and then shooting him again as the terrorist continued to rush toward him–killing him.

Moyal then collapsed and died later at Soroka Hospital.

Who was the terrorist? Fadi Abu Latif.

An Israeli citizen from the Bedouin city of Rahat, but not a normal one. His mother is a Bedouin and his father is from Gaza. He grew up in Gaza (where his parents still live) but managed to move to Israel in 2019 when he was 18–and became an Israeli citizen under the utterly misguided Family Reunification Law. He married an Israeli-Arab and had a child.

Ironically, his cousin, Major Ahmed Abu Latif, enlisted in the IDF reserves back in October and died heroically in battle in Gaza.

Knesset member Avigdor Lieberman had this to say:

“The abominable terrorist who carried out the brutal attack at the Beit Kama intersection is a former Gazan who entered Israel as part of family reunification.

What is required at this time is to clearly state that any Palestinian who wishes to marry a person with Israeli citizenship is welcome to do so in Gaza or Ramallah. We must not take any unnecessary security risks at the expense of the citizens of Israel.”

On the Ground in the South

The Qatari factor:

Our government remains terrified of doing anything to disturb Qatar because of that country’s leading role in the hostage negotiations. This reticence is despite Qatar’s being nothing more than a front organization for HamISIS.

Previously, we published photos showing the destruction of the Qatari Hamed neighborhood. That destruction was not supposed to happen; however, the IDF found that every building was honeycombed with terrorists.

Now comes news that fighters were actually ordered “to use as little force as possible” in carrying out their operations. These orders were eventually changed when an ambush nearly took the lives of a large number of IDF soldiers.

Further news this morning: the U.S. is now unbelievably demanding that Israel allow Qatar to “help administer” the seaport being established. Putting Qatar in an administrative role is like putting the fox in charge of the chicken coop.

On the Ground in the North

According to an Israeli organization based in the north, approximately 2,800 missiles have been fired into northern Israel and the Galilee since the war began. For the past few weeks, they have been exploding at a rate of more than 100 per day.

On the Ground in Judea and Samaria

Security forces thwarted a terror attack in Gush Etzion last night. Terrorists armed with knives and a machete were captured on their way to Kfar Eldad.

The Outrageous Actions of the Biden Administration Continue

Three more Israelis were sanction by the Bidenites yesterday: Naria Ben Fazi, Moshe Sharvit, and Zvi Bar Yosef.

More than this, the idiots in Washington also sanctioned two fledgling Jewish communities: “Zvi’s Farm” in the Binyamin region and “Moshe’s Farm” (aka the “Terza Valley Farm”) in the Jordan Valley.

If Israeli banks follow the sanctions placed on previous Judeans and Samarians, they too will pusillanimously freeze the bank accounts of the above three individuals and of the farms.

Following the Biden announcement, Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich indicated that he will now refuse to sign the necessary document that provides legal protection against lawsuits to the Israeli Discount Bank and Bank Hapoalimboth of are used by the government and others to transfer money to the PLO.

As was written today: “In the absence of protection, the Israeli banks are expected to sever ties with the Palestinian banks, fearing that they will be exposed to lawsuits on the charge of transferring funds to terrorism. Since the PA’s economy depends on the relationship with Israel, this means an immediate freeze of economic activity in the Palestinian Authority.”

The First Friday of Ramadan

Police Commissioner Yaakov Shabtai delivered a letter yesterday to PM Benjamin Netanyahu’s military secretary warning him that without limiting the number of Muslim worshipers on the Temple Mount, there is no way to meet the safety requirements there.

Supposedly, “only” 50,000 are to be permitted; however this number has not been given to the Police.

Later today, we will find out what happens on the Mount.

Schumer Spells It Out

There is no reason for American Democrats to pretend any longer.

Led by President Biden and Senate leader Chuck Schumer, the Democrats have now given voice to what their mission is in regard to Israel.

As we have been writing as far back as when Obama took office back in 2009, the Democrats are doing everything possible to undermine PM Netanyahu and throw him and our Coalition government under the bus.

There is no regard for Israeli democracy, and, in fact, an utter disregard to election results here.

Schumer made this abundantly clear in a speech two days ago in the Senate.

Here are some snippets from that speech with my interpolations:

Click here to read Schumer’s entire speech.

“The Netanyahu coalition no longer fits the needs of Israel after October 7. The world has changed — radically — since then, and the Israeli people are being stifled right now by a governing vision that is stuck in the past.”

[The government of Israel was democratically elected. The policies of our government are overwhelmingly supported by the people. The sheer arrogance of Schumer is breathtaking.]

“Nobody expects Prime Minister Netanyahu to do the things that must be done to break the cycle of violence, preserve Israel’s credibility on the world stage, and work towards a two-state solution.”

[We are in the middle of a war that was begun by Palestinian monsters in Gaza. To break the cycle of violence we need to eliminate HamISIS. Israel’s survival is more important than “credibility on the world stage”, and infinitely more important than the long-dead mantra of a “two-state solution.”]

“If he were to disavow Ministers Smotrich and Ben Gvir, and kick them out of his governing coalition, that would be a real meaningful step forward. But regrettably, there is no reason to believe Prime Minister Netanyahu would do that.”

[Ministers Smotrich and Ben Gvir are ministers because of the outpouring of support they received in the last election. They are vigorously applauded (except by those on the Israeli left) for all they are doing.]

“He won’t disavow Ministers Smotrich and Ben Gvir and their calls for Israelis to drive Palestinians out of Gaza and the West Bank. He won’t commit to a military operation in Rafah that prioritizes protecting civilian life. He won’t engage responsibly in discussions about a “day-after” plan for Gaza, and a longer-term pathway to peace.”

[What in the world is Schumer talking about? Who has called to drive the Palestinians out of Gaza or Judea and Samaria (aka the West Bank)? Netanyahu and our IDF have not gone out of the way to protect civilian life in Gaza? Has Netanyahu not talked endlessly about the day-after-plan for Gaza?]

“On the Israeli side, the US government should demand that Israel conduct itself with a future two-state solution in mind. We should not be forced into a position of unequivocally supporting the actions of an Israeli government that includes bigots who reject the idea of a Palestinian state”

[Utter hubris. Schumer sees Israel as nothing more than a vassal state that must follow the dictates of the U.S. What’s more, anyone who rejects the idea of a Palestinian state is now a “bigot.”]

“Five months into this conflict, it is clear that Israelis need to take stock of the situation and ask: must we change course? At this critical juncture, I believe a new election is the only way to allow for a healthy and open decision-making process about the future of Israel, at a time when so many Israelis have lost their confidence in the vision and direction of their government . . .”

[Thank you Chuck Schumer for telling Israelis what we must do. And again, where are the “so many Israelis” who have lost confidence in the government?]

“If Prime Minister Netanyahu’s current coalition remains in power after the war begins to wind down, and continues to pursue dangerous and inflammatory policies that test existing US standards for assistance, then the United States will have no choice but to play a more active role in shaping Israeli policy by using our leverage to change the present course.”

[Unbelievable and unprecedented. Israel is nothing more than a banana republic in the eyes of the Democrats.]

‘The United States’ bond with Israel is unbreakable, but if extremists continue to unduly influence Israeli policy, then the Administration should use the tools at its disposal to make sure our support for Israel is aligned with our broader goal of achieving long-term peace and stability in the region.”

[Schumer would have us believe that our government is extremist, and that the Administration “should use the tools at its disposal” to make sure that Israelis march in lockstep with Biden’s Democrat Party policies.]

As I wrote at the outset, the Democrats have made it clear. Trample on Israeli democracy and remove Netanyahu and his Coalition at all costs. Use American power to force Israel to do what the leftist Democrat Party wants.

On that unhappy note, we wish our soldiers and you:

Shabbat Shalom!
