UPDATES 7:00 pm Israel time:

–>After a particularly bloody Tuesday yesterday, Israelis have undergone another withering day of terrorism today.

The following shootings, bulldozer attack, and stabbing attempts took place this morning:

At 7:45 am, Palestinian terrorists fired from a passing car at a bus in the Ramot suburb of Jerusalem. The terrorists fled the scene when an armed civilian returned fire. One Israeli was wounded; others were treated for shock.

At 8:35 am, a terrorist attempted to run over Israelis near Safra Square in Jerusalem. The terrorist was shot and killed.

At 8:48 am, the same terrorists who fired at the Israeli bus an hour before fired again from their vehicle near Safra Square in Jerusalem. An Israeli-Arab was seriously wounded. The two terrorists were shot and killed.

At 9:45 am, a terrorist tried to stab soldiers under the A-Ziva Bridge on Route 5. He was shot and killed.

At 9:51 am, a terrorist attempted to stab Israelis at the Salfit Checkpoint near Ariel. No Israelis were wounded. The terrorist was shot and killed.

At 10:51 am, a female terrorist armed with a knife was captured after penetrating the Jewish community of Kedumim. By the way, the man credited with stopping the terrorist was Kedumim resident Yeshurun Gavish  whose mother, father, older brother, and grandfather were slaughtered by Palestinian terrorists at Passover 2002 in the community of Elon Moreh.

At 11:52 am, another terrorist was captured at Kedumim prior to carrying out an attack.

–>The chickens come home to roost.

IDF forces arrested the terrorist murderer of Abraham Feuer today. Four and a half months ago, Feuer was run over and murdered in Hebron. The terrorist turned himself into the PLO police who “arrested” him, only to release him yesterday.

The IDF was there when he returned to his home in the Palestinian settlement of Daharia.

–>Joe Biden denounces Palestinian violence.

In the aftermath of the violence yesterday, Joe Biden issued a refreshingly blunt statement supporting Israel:

“Let me say in no uncertain terms: The United States of America condemns these acts and condemns the failure to condemn these acts. This cannot become an accepted modus operandi.

This cannot be viewed by civilized leaders as an appropriate way in which to behave. It is just not tolerable in the 21st century. They’re targeting innocent civilians, mothers, pregnant women, teenagers, grandfathers, American citizens. There can be no justification for this hateful violence and the United States stands firmly behind Israel when it defends itself as we are defending ourselves at this moment as well.”

Bravo Joe.

Now, let’s see what you say when you go to Ramallah.

–>Updates on yesterday’s terror:

*Two of those shot in Jerusalem yesterday remain in grave condition–basically being kept alive by virtue of being medically sedated into comas.

*The badly wounded orthodox man in Petah Tikva who turned the tables on his terrorist attacker by wrestling him to the ground and stabbing him with his (the terrorist’s) own knife remains hospitalized in serious but stable condition.

*A number of victims from the carnage in Jaffo also remain in the hospital this morning. As we reported in a late update yesterday, those stabbed included 4 American tourists (see Today’s Blog), a Russian citizen, several Israeli-Arabs, and several Israeli Jews.

TODAY’S BLOG:

Taylor Force. May his memory be forever blessed.

Taylor Force. May his memory be forever blessed.

One of those Americans in the hospital is Jamie Force, the wife of the American who was tragically killed.

That American, Taylor Force, was by all accounts a remarkable young man. 29 years old, Taylor was a graduate of the U.S. Military Academy at West Point who had served tours of duty in Iraq and Afghanistan. Following his service, he had enrolled at Vanderbilt University to study for a graduate degree in Business Administration.

He and his wife were in Yaffo as part of a Vanderbilt university tour. They were walking along the promenade near the famous Yaffo clock when they were stabbed.

Perhaps, the most eloquent words concerning Force came from his friend Barrett Caldwell.

From Caldwell’s Facebook page:

“Wrecked with pouring tears in a parking lot in Florida tonight as I caught the trending news across social networks that my dear and honorable friend was murdered and taken so wrongly from this world today at the hand’s of a brutal terrorist attack while in Israel.

My boy graduated West Point in 2009 and deployed to the front lines in Afghanistan and Iraq where he served and led as a Field Artillery Officer amongst his men in battle. His decisions, actions, and leadership were heroic and yet he stayed so humble when we talked privately.

I know it’s often said when we lose someone, but man, Taylor was the epitome of a gentleman, a fellow military Officer, and a friend. I can hear his voice and laugh now as we talked about life and memories together.

We traveled to Ireland together with Jamie Southwick, slept on stranger’s floors, and just roamed the country playing…he even made me drink this Guinness, which I abhor, in his honor on the streets of Galway.

Dude was such a good good man. He ended up at Vanderbilt in their MBA program after many talks about how much I loved Nashville and telling him he’d love it. The city has became home to both of us.

I went to Oklahoma with him and Jamie to watch him buy horses at an auction and it was the most fun thing to watch him get all excited and pick a horse he could grow, train, and win with as he started racing horses when we left the military around the same time in 2014.

This guy exemplified service, character, intentionality in fellowship, and was an absolute joy to be around time after time. Love the guy.

As the tears roll, I know a lot of people will be hurting, asking questions, and wondering how we stop all this madness with terrorism. It’s brutal in every form.

I trust in a God who’s a good good father and I won’t be shaken even in times of mourning, sadness, and questions. Lord, let your light shine.

You’re a hero, bud, in all the ways you served our nation and your friends.

I love you, man. Truly.”

Your humble servant has nothing to add to this moving tribute.

It should be noted, however, that PLO Chairman Mahmoud Abbas, Israel’s so-called “partner for peace”, praised Taylor’s murderer this morning as “a hero.”
