The News on the Israel Street

Israel cuts funding for UNESCO . . .

In protest of the pathetic UNESCO decision that the tombs of Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Sarah, Rebecca, and Leah in Hevron have no connection to Judaism, PM Netanyahu announced that Israel is reducing its funding to the United Nations by one million dollars.

Of course, this reduction will have no effect on the utterly corrupt proceedings of the U.N.

And of course, the UNESCO decision will have no effect whatsoever on the situation on the ground in Hevron.

And of course it must be remembered that for all of PM Netanyahu’s outrage, his government and all Israeli governments stretching back to 1967 are at least partially complicit in the UNESCO decision–because those governments have taken absurd, politically correct, actions which encourage the world to think that the Temple Mount and the Cave of the Patriarchs are Muslim.

Not until Israel asserts full sovereignty over such places will the situation ever change.

A new ceasefire on the southern Golan . . .

Five hours from now, at noon, a new ceasefire is set to take place on the southern Golan, in the area closest to the Syrian border with Israel.

Will it hold?

Obviously not.

Not even with Russian and American backing. There are simply two many forces involved:

Jaish Khaled (Islamic State)

The Army of Khalid bin al-Walid (affiliated with Islamic State)

Southern Front of the Free Syrian Army rebels (supported by Jordan, Gulf States, U.S.)

Knights of the Golan (independent local group)

Ahrar al-Sham and Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (Islamist groups formerly known as al Nusra and originally known as Al-Qaeda)

Iranian Shi’ite militias (elements of Revolutionary Guards with groups of mercenaries from Iraq, Afghanistan, and elsewhere).

Hezbollah (Iranian subsidiary)

The Syrian Army (Assad’s forces)

Given the above array of forces, your humble servant predicts that the ceasefire will hold for no longer than one week, at most.

No honor among delegitimizers?

As you may not be aware, former Knesset member Bassel Ghattas has just entered prison after having been convicted of smuggling cellphones to terrorists already in prison. Those cellphones were used to coordinate more terrorist activities against Israelis.

Now it turns out, that Ghattas’ “going away party”, held at the Jaffa Theater last month, was apparently paid for by the New Israel Fund. The “party” also included expressions of support for numerous other terrorists held in Israeli prisons.

None of this, if true, is in any way surprising. The New Israel Fund, largely funded by non-Israeli leftists,  is engaged in a wide variety of activities to delegitimize Israel.
It is not a permanent problem and happens occasionally due to conditions such as anxiety, stress, worry, relationship buy levitra problems, depression or some other mental issues with you. Here at PrimaMed, we have found cialis online sales rise not in times of stress but some experience it more often. As a resort, Monaco and levitra prices Monte Carlo come in second to none, and were made even more popular with the James Bond films created in the 1960s. It is found that men who lead a healthier lifestyle are less likely to develop ED. purchasing viagra in canada

But what was shocking yesterday was that Shai Glick, the director of another hideous group, B’Tselem, said this:

“. . . the NIF, which declares itself a Zionist, supports the terrorists and helps them. The support of the Fund of an event in honor of Basil Ghattas and the other murderers is a disgrace. I call on the State of Israel to act with all its might to stop any connection with the New Israel Fund in any form.”

This coming from the B’Tselem organization that delegitimizes Israel at every opportunity.

Simply astonishing.

TODAY’S BLOG:

Can it really be happening again?

Numerous reports in the Israeli media and in the Arab news, notably from the Lebanese newspaper Al Akhbar, indicate that Israel may be on the verge of another mass release of Palestinian terrorists from Israeli prisons.

This time the terrorists are being released for two Israeli-Arab Bedouins (Juma Ibrahim Abu Ganima, Hisham al-Sayed), and one Ethiopian-Israeli (Avera Mengistu)–all three of whom have mental problems and walked across the border into Gaza on their own.

Furthermore, body parts of Hadar Goldin and Oron Shaul–both of whom were blown to pieces during Operation Protective Edge in 2014 would be turned over by Hamas.

So what terrorists is Israel on the verge of releasing?

1. 53 terrorists who were released in the Gilad Shalit deal, then rearrested for more terrorist crimes, tried, and convicted again

2. all female Palestinian terrorists

3. all teenaged Palestinian terrorists (18 and 19 year olds)

4. all Hamas terrorist parliamentarians currently imprisoned

5. arch-terrorist Marwan Barghouti, currently serving 5 life terms in prison

6. arch-terrorist Ahmad Sa’adat, leader of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine

7. all terrorists from eastern Jerusalem

8. all Israeli-Arab terrorists

Can you even begin to wrap your mind around this dear reader?

Can you even begin to imagine the insanity of releasing hundreds of terrorists who will merely turn around and try to kill us again–in return for three people who wanted to go to Gaza, and presumed body parts of two of our soldiers?

It is simply flabbergasting that Israel would even consider such an exchange. We can only hope that the hardliners in the Netanyahu Coalition (namely Naftali Bennett) will stop this madness from taking place.
