The News on the Israel Street
Palestinian terror in the last 24 hours . . .
If all of the following sounds familiar, it should because you have read about it here a hundred times before.
*A Palestinian terrorist suddenly pulled a knife near a hitchhiking station just outside of Kiryat Arba and began running at a group of soldiers and civilians who were standing there. He was shot, but unfortunately not killed. No Israelis were wounded.
*More “rock” and Molotov attacks occurred at Neve Tzuf, Karmei Tzur, Gush Etzion, Hevron, Tubas, Hizma, Al Khader, and about 20 other locations..
Have you ever wanted to own some land in Israel? . . .
Here’s your chance. Through a website named “Own The Holy Land”, you can buy 4 cubits (1.5 meters x 1.5 meters) of land for only . . . $360. Of course, this is a tiny parcel of land, but at least it’s a parcel.
And you will receive credit for performing the Terumah, Orlah, and Smita.
Oh, and one other thing. You can buy multiple plots.
Please note that israelstreet cannot attest to the credibility of the site, but evaluate it yourself.
Whatever Happened To Boogie Ya’alon?
It’s hard to know when our former Defense Minister began his slide downward, but if your humble servant had to choose a moment in time, it would be about midway through the last war with Hamas.
By that time, it had become abundantly clear that the Israeli drive to take out Hamas had stalled–not because of a lack of motivation on the part of our soldiers, but instead because our pusillanimous leaders (Netanyahu, Ya’alon, and Gantz) simply pulled the plug. In one of the most poorly planned episodes in Israeli military history, whole groups of Israeli soldiers were penned up in holding area on the border where Hamas could easily rein mortars down on them.
More than a dozen were killed.
Then, there was the Azariya affair. Barely 24 hours after IDF soldier Elor Azariya was arrested for shooting a wounded Palestinian terrorist in Hevron, Ya’alon was one the first out of the box with harsh condemnations of our soldier. Ya’alon’s savage accusations of Azariya’s “guilt” will always be remembered by many of us Israelis.
Last week, Ya’alon was out with another outrageous statement. This time he said the blood of the Henkin family and the Dawabshe family “is on our hands.”
In case you have forgotten, Eitam and Na’ama Henkin were shot down near Beit Furik by 5 Palestinian terrorists. The Henkins’ four children hid in the family van as their parents were slaughtered on the road in front of the van. All five terrorists were later captured, confessed, and are awaiting trial.
As for the Dawabshe murders, this refers to the Molotov attack on the Dawabshe family home in Duma which eventually resulted in the deaths of the mother, father, and one child. After holding numerous young men (mostly minors) in extreme, isolated, detention for months, Shin Bet was finally able to “extract” a confession from the oldest one, and he is awaiting trial. But not before a pretrial takes place in which the suspect is demanding to be released because he was tortured into a confession.
And now we have Ya’alon blaming Israelis for the Henkins murders and the Dawabshe murders? A group of Palestinian terrorists shot down the Henkins, and who knows what happened to the Dawabshes? But for Ya’alon, it makes no difference. We are to blame.
Talk about the ultimate in political correctness. Now Israel is to blame when Israelis are gunned down, and Israelis are to blame when a Palestinian home is torched (Click here for a recitation of the Dawabshe problems in Duma–none of which have anything to do with Israelis and everything to do with clan warfare).
Your humble servant thinks that it is safe to say that Ya’alon has gone even further off his rocker.
