Quotes of the Day

“Israel is occupying the West Bank, Gaza, and East Jerusalem.”

Raam leader Mansour Abbas in yet another interview on Jordanian television last night.

Lest we forget, without Mansour Abbas, Lapid and Bennett could not have a new government.

“Allah has commanded us to destroy Tel Aviv.”

Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar speaking yesterday

Hamas has never changed its charter calling for the destruction of Israel, and this statement just underlines the point.

The News on the Street in Israel

On the Iran front . . .

Britain, France, Germany, and the U.S. announced yesterday that they will not push for further sanctions against Iran–despite the fact that unexplained traces of uranium were found at three sites in Iran during the past month.

On the Corona front . . .

Corona vaccinations begin this morning in Israel for those aged 12-16. It is estimated that some 600,000 Israelis fall into that category, and thousands made advance reservations to get the vaccine this week.

This is despite reports that a small percentage of young people receiving the vaccination develop myocarditis.

Amazon upgrading its service to Israel? . . .

It was reported by the economic journal The Marker that Amazon may soon begin offering free shipping to Israel on orders of $79 or more.

To appreciate this fact, consider that most orders from Amazon are socked with import duties and shipping which often quintuple the actual cost of the product ordered.

Save the rhinos! . . .

Mother and son.

Mother and son.

What you are looking at is the newest “infant” arrival at the Animal Safari in Ramat Gan. The Safari has one of the most successful rhinoceros breeding programs in the world.

Rihanna, the mother rhino in the photos above and below, has just given birth to her third offspring, a male that has yet to be named.

Rihanna and her baby.

TODAY’S BLOG

What Has Happened To The Israel We Once Knew?

Israel has become a trembling, cowering shadow of its former self.

If this statement sounds outrageous or nonsensical consider the events of the last 24 hours.

On Friday, the subject of this blog was the Jerusalem Flag March/Parade.

The March/Parade begins at the Damascus Gate and continues through the Muslim Quarter down to the Kotel (Western Wall). It has been carried out for decades in a symbolic underscoring that Jerusalem is our eternal capital and will not be divided again.

It has taken place on Jerusalem Day every year for decades even through the roughest times of the first and second intifadas.

Until this year.
Erectile dysfunction is the condition that affects view that order cheap levitra reproductive health leading men to dissatisfactory love-life. Not being able to experience an erection can damage a person’s self esteem primarily levitra tablet because it is one task that others are able to accomplish with relative ease. A number of drugs have been cheap levitra known to cause various side effects. Usually parents nag kids about canadian viagra samples eating because of their lifestyles.

This year, Hamas and Islamic Jihad threatened the Israel that if the March/Parade took place, they would launch missile strikes against Jerusalem and the rest of the country. In response, our cowardly government stopped the march from happening.

Whereupon Hamas and Islamic Jihad launched 5100 missiles at Jerusalem and the rest of Israel anyway.

To put it a different way: they threatened, we bent over, kissed their rear ends, did what they told us toand then got bombarded us with missiles.

It was as egregious display of outright Israeli cowardice as your humble servant has ever seen.

Fast forward to yesterday.

We reported that the Flag March/Parade has been rescheduled to take place on Thursday, June 10 which is Rosh Chodesh Tammuz.

I wrote this:  “Of course, all it takes is for Hamas to threaten to shoot a missile, and the March will be canceled again.”

Shortly thereafter, Hamas head Yahya Sinwar was asked what he thought about the impending Flag March. His response: “If the Israelis return to attack Al-Aqsa, we will return to burning Israel without hesitation.”

Shaking in their sandals, Israeli politicians have rushed to respond submissively to Sinwar’s threat:

“The march is an attempt to set the area on fire and prevent the formation of a new government.”

Knesset legislator Ram Ben Barak of Yair Lapid’s Yesh Atid Party

“I appeal to Police Commissioner Kobi Shabtai to prevent the parade.”

Knesset legislator Issawi Frij of the Meretz party

“The approving bodies should avoid significant risks and cancel the flag parade. Israel must not allow extremists to dictate the course of events again.”

Knesset legislator Amar Bar-Lev

Are you following all of this?

Just think about Bar-Lev’s comments.

“We should avoid “significant risks?”  This has become the mantra of the IDF and Israeli security forces.

“Israel must not allow extremists to dictate the course of events?” This is precisely what Israel is doing–letting Palestinian terrorists dictate the course of events.

Except that Bar-Lev is not referring to the terrorists in Gaza as extremists, he is referring to the Jews who want to reinforce Israeli sovereignty in Jerusalem by carrying out the Flag March/Parade as extremists.

The world has turned upside down.

To top it all off, we now have our so-called “Defense Minister” Benny Gantz demanding this morning that the Flag March/Parade be canceled.

This was after he held a meeting with the IDF Chief of Staff, the Commissioner of the Israel Police, the Attorney General, the head of the Central Command, the Coordinator of Government Activities in the Territories and other security officialsall of whom are terrified of our enemies.

And all of whom think that Jews are the extremists, not the Palestinian terrorists.

54 years ago today, Israel was in the midst of the Six-Day War–a war in which we defeated terrorism on every front from the Golan to Jerusalem to the Sinai.

Our soldiers bravely fought through the streets of Jerusalem, took the Temple Mount, and planted our flag on top of the Kipat HaSela (Dome of the Rock).
