The huge fire that has consumed almost 3000 dunams of forest near Neve Ilan and Abu Ghosh remains ablaze at this hour. Highway 1 from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem is currently open after being closed much of the day.
Also at this hour of 10 pm (click here), Jews waving Jerusalem and Israeli flags are marching around the Old City. This is not to be confused with Flag Parade which apparently has been rescheduled for the third time for next Tuesday. Click here for another “live” video.

Lawsuit of the Day
The amazing lawfare organization Shurat HaDin filed a 1 billion shekel lawsuit in Jerusalem today against Qatari banks and numerous “charities” that transferred money to Hamas and Islamic Jihad during the recent war.
The lawsuit has been filed on behalf of 24 victims of missile fire.
Another Crack in the New Government
A fight has erupted already between the new left-wing Minister of Transportation Merav Michaeli and the incoming Interior Minister Ayelet Shaked.
The fight centers over 2.5 billion shekels that had been budgeted for new roads in Judea and Samaria. Michaeli wants to eliminate that expenditure or at least reduce it to 1 billion.

Believe it or not, archaeologists excavating a septic ditch in the city of Yavne have uncovered an intact chicken egg–estimated to be at least 1000 years old. Ostrich egg finds are not that uncommon as are dinosaur eggs, but it is extremely rare for a chicken egg to be found.
A student from Malawi, who had worked with an Israeli health volunteer in his country battling AIDS, came up to us as we walked down the street in the UC-Davis Picnic Day Parade and wanted to carry the Israeli flag.
