The Photo of the Day

The unseemly scene at Kaplan Hospital in Rehovot several days ago.

The unseemly scene at Kaplan Hospital in Rehovot several days ago.

The above photo which is a screen shot taken from a video is of two Israeli-Arab hospital workers embracing Hamas terrorist Maqadad Qawasmeh.

Qawasmeh had been on an 83-day hunger strike in an Israeli prison, and when his condition weakened, he was sent to Kaplan Hospital this past week where a very large number of the doctors, nurses, and hospital staff are Israeli-Arabs (this is becoming true at most hospitals in Israel).

Since his arrival, Qawasmeh has been treated like a king, and the two workers you see above rushed to embrace him–producing a storm on social media when their video went viral. Israelis demanded that they be fired.

As of yesterday, however, the hospital announced that they would not be fired because they had apologized for what they said was a “selfie.” What is also bizarre is that another video has surfaced showing the terrorist’s father–a senior member of Hamas–also at the hospital bed. How did he get there?

The bottom line: why in the world is the Israeli taxpayer spending tens of thousands of shekels to keep this terrorist alive? He should have rotted in his cell. To make matters worse, we have enhanced his “heroic” status.

Absolutely pathetic.

The News on the Israeli Street

The daily Corona update . . .

1,468 more Israelis were confirmed “yesterday” as having Covid-19. There are now 24,894 active cases in the country.

1,307,870 Israelis have contracted Corona since the pandemic began.

The positive test rate yesterday was 1.87%.

435 Israelis are in serious condition with another 189 in critical condition on ventilators.

7,940 Israelis have died–20 since yesterday.

Vaccinations:

6,186,875 Israelis have received one dose.

5,686,464 Israelis have received two doses.

3,767,331 Israelis have received three doses.

Palestinian terror in the last 48 hours . . .

Palestinian terrorists attacked Israelis with Molotovs and “rocks” in Gush Etzion north of the T Junction, at the Gush Etzion Junction, and north of Ofra.

Palestinian terrorists attacked our soldiers last night in Kobar (northwest of Ramallah), and Tamun (northern Samaria).

Ever deeper into the abyss we slide . . .

Try to wrap your mind around this.
Hence, either the father sildenafil india online or mother or both should immediately seek medical attention. The PLO announced this morning that Israel has approved “family reunification” for 442 Palestinians who married Israeli-Arabs.

This is the first time such reunification has taken place in 12 years (in other words, never under Netanyahu).

It is yet another concession made by our Concession Government to the Palestinians–a concession that will lead to more family reunification and undermines the Jewishness of Israel.

But what do Bennett, Lapid, Gantz and their minions care if Israel slides slowly into the abyss?

Natural gas to Lebanon and Syria and water to . . .

Jordan.

Our Concession Government signed an agreement with Jordan this morning to double the annual water supply from Israel to Jordan.

We barely have enough water for ourselves, and now we are sending ever more to a country that vilifies us at every turn.

Two pieces of good news . . .

1. The economy continued to improve in September. There is a budget surplus of 2.2 billion shekels thanks to increased tax receipts, and a deficit of “only” 6.8%.

2. Apparently, assuming nothing changes, the government will begin allowing tourists into the country on November 1–but only tourists from Europe. It remains unclear what kind of testing and documentation will be required.

TODAY’S BLOG

The IDF Throws Judean And Samarian Soldiers Under The Bus

It may be totally unsurprising, but this story that was revealed today resonates on many levels.

Lubiner (name changed to maintain his privacy), a reserve soldier in the IDF, was wounded more than a month ago–suffering fractures in his leg and foot during a Palestinian attack in Samaria.

Subsequently, a doctor told him that he needed to be examined by an orthopedist at a hospital in Jerusalem.

The normal procedure is for the IDF to send a car to pick up those soldiers who have been wounded and drive them to their medical appointment.

But wait . . . it turns out that Lubiner lives in Nofei Prat, a Jewish community home to approximately 200 families. It is located near Ma’ale Adumim across the “Green Line”, the artificial line that separates Judea and Samaria from the rest of Israel.

When Lubiner called to order the pick up, he was told that because he lived in Judea and Samaria, he would have to provide his own transportation to a “crossing” on the Green Line and that he would be picked up from there.

Lubiner was shocked. As he says: “I am good enough to serve in the Judea and Samaria, but the IDF is afraid to send me a car to the locality in Judea and Samaria where I live.”

The IDF’s response was: “It is not possible to provide an escort with every civilian transport. It is necessary for the patient to arrive at the nearest crossing.”

Finally, Lubiner’s mother was forced to take a day off from work and took him to the hospital.

What are the takeaways from Lubiner’s experience?

1. The IDF is afraid.

2. We all know that a disproportionate number of IDF soldiers and reserves come from Judea and Samaria and that many of them serve in Judea and Samaria. It is astonishing that the IDF would throw them under the bus.

3. Whatever happened to “no soldier left behind”? The IDF is perfectly willing to leave behind soldiers and reserves who live in Judea and Samaria.

4. The discrimination inherent in the IDF decision which relegates soldiers and reserves who live in Judea and Samaria to second-class citizens is appalling.
