UPDATE 11:00 AM

The Best Quotes of Yesterday

“It is appalling that the USA did not veto a resolution that does not condemn Hamas.”

Democrat Senator Joe Fetterman of Pennsylvania.

“We have no moral right to stop the war in Gaza without the return of the kidnapped.”

Defense Minister Yoav Gallant speaking in Washington.

Gallant is correct, but he didn’t go far enough. We have no moral right to stop the war in Gaza without the return of the kidnapped and the complete disarmament of Gaza.

PM Netanyahu’s Office Statement Last Night

After The American Abstention

“Message from the Prime Minister’s Office:

The US withdrew from its consistent position in the Security Council where it only a few days ago linked a ceasefire with the release of the abductees (Article 1).

China and Russia vetoed the previous resolution partly because they supported a ceasefire without the release of the abductees.

Russia and China supported the current decision, along with Algeria and other countries.

The US did not veto today the new text that calls for a ceasefire without the condition of releasing the abductees.

This is a clear retreat from the consistent position of the US in the Security Council since the beginning of the war.

This withdrawal hurts both the war effort and the effort to release the hostages, because it gives Hamas hope that international pressure will allow them to accept a cease-fire without the release of our hostages.

Prime Minister Netanyahu made it clear last night that if the US withdraws from its principled position, he will not send the Israeli delegation to the US.

In light of the change in the American position, Prime Minister Netanyahu decided that the delegation would not leave.”

Kolakevod to Netanyahu for standing up to the Bidenites!

In the North

Haj Asker, the commander of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard militias in Al-Bukamal eastern Syria was killed in an IAF airstrike that targeted an important security meeting for the IRG militias. 8 other leaders were also killed.

In Judea and Samaria

A massive attempt by Iran to smuggle weapons through Jordan into Judea and Samaria was thwarted by the Shin Bet and IDF in the past few days. This is a photo of some of the weapons captured:

Everything from RPGs to automatic weapons to mines . . . and more.

Everything from RPGs to automatic weapons to mines . . . and more.

UPDATE 9:00 AM

The Absolutely Ludicrous Quote of the Day

“Only diplomacy can bring about a sustainable ceasefire and hostage release.”

U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Linda Thomas-Greenfield speaking at the United Nations Security Council yesterday following the abominable vote on Resolution 2728 (see below).

Diplomacy? What a joke. The latest American proposal calls for Israel to release 100 Palestinian terrorist murderers from Israeli prisons and 600 more Palestinian terrorists in return for 40 Israeli civilians brutally held hostage in Gaza.

There is no diplomacy. Only a demand for outrageous Israeli concessions that will further jeopardize the lives of all Israelis.

The Sickening Juxtaposition of Events Yesterday

As for “diplomacy”, one can only imagine HamISIS head Yahya Sinwar sitting down in his underground burrow surrounded by living and dead Israeli hostages laughing uproariously at the goings-on in New York.

What was his HamISIS response to the Security Council vote yesterday?

A parade of HamISIS leaders praised the decision–terming it “historic.”

HamISIS threatened another infiltration of Israel by sending more than 100 terrorists toward the Gaza “security fence”.

HamISIS fired 8 missiles at Ashdod:

Every section of Ashdod was targeted.

Every section of Ashdod was targeted.

HamISIS fired 3 missiles at Sderot:

The missiles were intercepted over Sderot. Incomprehensibly, no warning alarms were sounded.

Two of the three missiles were intercepted over Sderot. Incomprehensibly, no warning alarms were sounded.

HamISIS fired 4 missiles at south Ashkelon and Zikim:

South Ashkelon (where the large power plant is located) and Zikim (where an Israeli Naval base is located) were hit.

South Ashkelon (where the large power plant is located) and Zikim (where an Israeli Naval base is located) were hit.

Finally, last night HamISIS rejected the proposed American ceasefire/hostage “deal” in Doha reiterating the terror organizations’ demands for “a comprehensive ceasefire, complete IDF withdrawal from the Gaza, the return of all displaced Gazans to their homes, and an exchange of prisoners”.

After all why should HamISIS accept anything less than what they demand? They are getting all they want from their international accomplices.

Let’s Take A Look At The Hideous Security Council Resolution

With My Interpolations

Resolution 2728

“The Security Council,

Guided by the purposes and principles of the Charter of the United Nations,

Recalling all of its relevant resolutions on the situation in the Middle East, including the Palestinian question,

[This is a not-so-thinly veiled reference to all of the other anti-Israel U.N. Resolutions passed over the years such as Resolution 242].

Reiterating its demand that all parties comply with their obligations under international law, including international humanitarian law and international human rights law, and in this regard deploring all attacks against civilians and civilian objects, as well as all violence and hostilities against civilians, and all acts of terrorism, and recalling that the taking of hostages is prohibited under international law,

[Note: “all parties”. The clear statement is that both Israel and HamISIS are considered in the same boat and that both have committed the acts stated].

Expressing deep concern about the catastrophic humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip,

[But no “deep concern” about the fate of Israeli hostages now held for 172 days. And no mention of Israelis brutally murdered on October 7].

Acknowledging the ongoing diplomatic efforts by Egypt, Qatar and the United States, aimed at reaching a cessation of hostilities, releasing the hostages and increasing the provision and distribution of humanitarian aid,

1. Demands an immediate ceasefire for the month of Ramadan respected by all parties leading to a lasting sustainable ceasefire, and also demands the immediate and unconditional release of all hostages, as well as ensuring humanitarian access to address their medical and other humanitarian needs, and further demands that the parties comply with their obligations under international law in relation to all persons they detain;

[Note that the ceasefire is not conditioned on a release of the hostages.]

2. Emphasises the urgent need to expand the flow of humanitarian assistance to and reinforce the protection of civilians in the entire Gaza Strip and reiterates its demand for the lifting of all barriers to the provision of humanitarian assistance at scale, in line with international humanitarian law as well as resolutions 2712 (2023) and 2720 (2023);

3. Decides to remain actively seized of the matter.

What is at first glance benign, is in fact hideous. And the fact that the Biden Administration supported the resolution (yes, an abstention is tantamount to support) marks a dramatic change in American policy.

PM Netanyahu was absolutely correct to decide not to send the upcoming delegation of Israelis to Washington.
